Thanks for checking out the Rotary Club of Yellow Springs. We’re in the process of forming a new service club in Yellow Springs that will be one of more than 35,000 clubs worldwide with 1.2 million members. We’re beginning as a satellite club of the Rotary Club of Fairborn, but we plan to get our own club charter once we’re big enough to stand on our own.
Rotary’s service projects include major worldwide projects like eradicating polio and providing emergency shelter from disasters down to small, local projects like our inaugural one to restock the Yellow Springs Little Free Pantry. Rotary projects all involve some form of service, but most are connected to one or more of our six area of focus:
- Peace and conflict prevention/resolution.
- Disease prevention and treatment.
- Water and sanitation.
- Maternal and child health.
- Basic education and literacy.
- Economic and community development.
We plan to meet in a brewery once COVID-19 is under control. For now, we’re meeting via Zoom and in person in a barn at Peifer Orchards where there’s enough space that social distancing can be done effectively. We meet on alternate Tuesdays, gathering at 5:30 p.m. for informal conversation and fellowship with the meeting starting at 6 p.m. and ending no later than 7. Contact us for meeting dates and information on attending by emailing [email protected] and [email protected]. The videos below should give more of an idea of what Rotary is all about.
